New Hats - Crocheted hats with Ribbed Edging

Here are my 2 new patterns!  They both have a ribbed edge which I love, because they look like traditional knit hats but they still whip up super quick like all crocheted hats should.

The 1st one is a stocking cap.
You can find it on Ravelry and Etsy.

The 2nd one is a simple beanie.
You can find it on Ravelry and Etsy.

My male model was a little preoccupied with playing outside so the pictures aren't that great, but I guess that's what you get for not paying your models.  :)

New Patterns for Etsy Store

I'm almost ready to post 2 new patterns for baby/toddler hats to my Etsy Shop.  Last thing is to take some cute pictures.  Hopefully my male model will be available tomorrow and then I can get these posted.

Apron

Well here is the fabric folded all nice and just out of the package from Fabric.com.

It took me a few days to get to it but here is my finished apron.  It's just a simple half apron with a pocket, but I love it.  This is the best part of making items for yourself because I was able to make it much longer then a usual half apron and use some fun fabric.

I also lined the apron with the accent fabric since this was quilting fabric and it's not very thick.

I love it!

Bunny Family Easter Pattern

Introducing the Bunny Family!

This is Bob, his bunny wife Bob, and their bunny kids, Bob, Bob and Bob.
(We are huge Sandra Boynton Fans and love 15 animals so I couldn't resist)
These guys are a fantastic fast project just in time for Easter.  There is still a month and a half before Easter which will give you plenty of time to make your own Bunny Family with tons of little babies.  Usually I love making huge oversized knit toys but I wanted to try something a lot smaller this time.  The Parent Bunnies are only 6 inches tall and the Baby Bunnies are under 3 inches tall.  The whole family will knit up super quick!

I'm glad I tried making a small project this time because my little guy loves them.  Every time I finished one of the Bunnies they would disappear out of my knitting basket.  I guess Jake loves the little size because they fit perfectly in his little hands.  None of my other finished knit projects have gotten this much love from him so I guess it's time to start making some smaller projects for Jake.

Each bunny is worked in the round on double pointed needles.  My favorite part of these little guys is that the ears are worked as one piece with the body so you don't have to try and sew ears on symmetrically when you are done knitting.  I don't know about you but I can never get my sewn on ears to look right.

The Pattern is available on Ravelry and my Etsy shop.

Enjoy

Around the House

I hate getting stuck in the house all day with Jake when it's cold and rainy out.  Jake wants to spend his whole day outside even if the weather isn't cooperating, so it's a bit of work to entertain him inside all day.

This is when my crazy mom side comes out and Jake and I make a mess.

I love this project that I have seen it a million places but most recently at my friend Steph's Blog.

Where you dye pasta and then play with it by sorting or scooping or what ever entertains  your little one.  I of course went over board and used tons of dye and tons of pasta and now we have lots of very brightly colored pasta around the house.
The best and worst part about this craft is that the dog thinks these are treats.  So if we drop any on the floor the dog cleans them up, but he also tries to eat the pasta out of Jake's hand while he is playing.

We also are addicted to Amazon and shopping at Costco so we get lots of boxes around the house.  I've been collecting the boxes for a few weeks in my dining room so it looks like we are moving out but they are super fun to use as gigantic building blocks.

We make super tall towers and tunnels that are perfect for pushing trucks thru.  This kid could push trucks around the house all day so it's fun to change it up a little.

Well those are a few of the things we have been up lately.  Can't wait for the weather to get a little warmer so we can spend some more time outside.

Fabric.com

Is anyone else addicted to Fabric.com?  How can I have spent an hour looking at fabric on-line!

My sewing machine has been dusted off and I'm going to make myself an apron.  It's going to be based on this Apron from Make it Love it, and this Apron from FAVECRAFTS.  It will be be just a simple half apron with a pocket that will hopefully get a lot of use.

These are the fabrics I finally ended up going with.  The floral will be the main part of the apron and the green will be the lining and waistband.  I ordered 2 yards of each which is way more fabric then I need but since I am experimenting I'm expecting a few mistakes so more fabric is better then running out.  Now I just need to wait for the nice UPS man to drop them off.

Petunia

Here is Petunia my new knit softie pattern.

She is knit flat for those of you that don't like using double pointed needles.  I'm on a huge crocheted flower kick so of course Petunia has a little crocheted flower.  If you have never crocheted before this is a pretty simple flower so give it a try or just "google" a pattern for a knit flower.
Petunia has long skinny arms which my toddler loves because they are the perfect size for his little hands.  The little man is big on giving out hugs right now so Petunia has received a few.  It's the cutest thing to see a child enjoying something you have made by hand.  I'll try to snap Jake giving Petunia a hug and share it with you.
Petunia is on my Etsy Shop TheWigglyBridge and Ravelry so enjoy!

My Little Male Model

You'll notice in most of my Etsy & Ravelry pictures that there is a cute little guy modeling hats & softies for me.   This is my son Jake, he's currently 21 months old and very busy.   He was lucky enough to get Daddy's blue eyes which are becoming harder and harder to snap a picture of since he is so busy and can't waste his time modeling for mommy.

Sometimes we get great pictures.

Sometimes we get terrible pictures.

We also get plenty of these, when little man is finished working. :)

But I love all of them since he's my little man.

Easter Trial and Error

Here is my first attempt at an Easter themed softie for my Etsy shop.  Sadly, the bunny didn't turn out as cute as it was in my head and it has some terrible color pooling.  Oh well, the 2nd attempt is turning out much better and I'll get pictures up when it's done.

I haven't written up this pattern yet but if people are interested I can post the pattern on Ravelry.  Leave a comment if you are interested in having me post the pattern for free on Ravelry.
